STUDENTS:  

  • There will be a lunch meeting for Student Ambassadors on Tuesday, February 16 in L-11.  Please attend if you can.
  • Congratulations to the following students in Mr. Brown’s Social Science Courses for outstanding work during the first semester.  For World History, we recognize Demetria Grant and Justin Stainbrook.  In World Geography, we recognize the following students:  Alisa Krenelka, Raymond Pliego, Gillian Kime, Travis Mtthews, Orion Ricketts, Hayden Higgins, Hannah Koehler, Denilson Benavides, and Ethan Ocampo. Keep up the great work Trojans!
  • The Navy and the Air Force will be giving presentations this month. Find out what the military can offer you.  Stop by the Career Center to sign up.
  • The ASVAB test will be given in March.  Stop by the Career Center to sign up.  This aptitude test is for those wanting to join the military as well as those who want to learn more about what occupations match their skills.  Students must be at least 16 to take the ASVAB.
  • Bring your Letter of Acceptance to a four year university or college to the Counseling Office to be included in the YVHS “Hall of Future Fame” and in the Academic and Senior Scholarship Programs. 
  • Swim Team tryouts will be held today from 2-4 pm on the pool deck.  You must have a physical to tryout.  For any questions, see Coach Pessa in F-7.
  • Time is almost up on the “Scholarships for Military Children” program.  The application deadline is tomorrow.  For more information on this $2000 scholarship, see Ms. Happy in the Counseling Office.
  • The Greenleaf Scholarship application deadline is February 17th.  Return completed applications to Ms. Happy in the Counseling Office. 
  • Students applying for CMC need their social security number to complete the application.  Save time and have your social security number memorized or handy before you begin the application.  You can also receive assistance from Kathy DeRouen to complete the FAFSA for financial aid; the FAFSA deadline is March 2nd.

STUDENT MEETINGS:

  • Art Club will be meeting at CMC to work on the Mural Project today!
  • AVID meets in V-2 @ lunch.
  • Biology Tutoring will be held in T-4 today.
  • Math Tutoring will be held in G-6 today.
