UC Application and the Common App
Hello, YVHS Senior, Class of 2015:
Great news! The UC application and Common App opens August 1 -- the first time ever the applications have been available before October 1!
YVHS will offer college admission application workshops -- UC and CSU applications, and Common Application -- so that you can complete or begin these college admission applications BEFORE school starts on August 25.
Kathleen DeRouen, UCLA certified college counselor, who has helped many MUSD students with their college admission and financial aid applications, will be at YVHS in Computer Lab 1 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, August 5, 7, 12, 14, and 19 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to assist seniors with the college admission and financial aid process. Days, dates and times will be added or adjusted to meet student need.
At these application workshops Kathy DeRouen will assist you with:
- Completing college admission application(s)
- Writing personal statement(s)
- Reviewing for SAT and ACT tests
- Applying for Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) and scholarships
- Estimating your family's Expected Family Contribution for the cost of college
- Beginning your Senior Scholarship Portfolio / Senior Scholarship Application
What you need to do to participate in these application workshops:
- Attend as many sessions as you are able, to get the best "jump start" on the college admission process.
If your extra-curricular team or activity conflicts with the above schedule, or the above schedule does not work for you, contact Kathy DeRouen at email@example.com.
Make your college admission application process successful and sane by gaining control of applications and testing BEFORE your senior year starts!
