The GATE program is open to all YVHS students who have been identified as academically, intellectually, or artistically gifted via a district coordinated evaluation process.  The club's mission is to provide GATE students with enrichment opportunities designed to broaden their cultural, scientific, political, and artistic awareness of the world around them.

 The Gate students traveled to Los Angeles to visit the GETTY on November 21, 2008.  Thirty-four students made the trip along with Cindy Zacks, Bill Barrett, and Jen Jungwirth.
